Hot Sauce, which
explores the sense of taste, follows the adventures of B-film director Bill Gabriel Young
who, suffering from amnesia after being mugged and knocked unconscious, attempts to piece
together his life. With the help of his friend Bella, Bill inadvertently discovers that
spicy food helps him briefly recall early memories. His subsequent hot-food binges,
however, only serve to reveal that his life, as he remembers it, might not be worth
living.
Humorously narrated by Bill's daughter Tanya, a
ten-year-old cynic who is wise beyond her years, the story mixes straightforward narrative
and documentary-style interviews with people from Bill's past. As the different accounts
unfold, a common theme emerges: each person casts Bill in an unflattering light - as a
shady, insensitive man who has little, if any, talent as a filmmaker.

In despair over these revelations, Bill is ultimately
saved by Tanya, whose open and unqualified acceptance and love convince him that some
things in life are definitely worth remembering.
